MacroSystem introduces the first portable Casablanca solution! Casablanca Liberty is MacroSystem's first portable digital video editing system with a built-in monitor! But this isn't just any monitor - MS has partnered with Toshiba electronics to implement Liberty on a Toshiba notebook with a swivel, touch-sensitive screen. With this touch-sensitive screen you can swivel it around to display your demo to a prospective customer or you can flip it around and down so that you can use the accompanying stylus to edit right on your lap! Of course, you can use the built-in touchpad, integrated keyboard or connect a trackball/keyboard to edit as you do now. The accustomed professional and intuitive SmartEdit system software is at
hand, making on-the-road DV and HDV editing dreams come true.
The Liberty does not sacrifice performance for portability as it is built with the Intel Dual Core Processor with results on par with the Solitaire and Renomee.
In addition to the creative power associated with video
editing in the Smart Edit environment, Liberty provides an additional
benefit - upon boot-up, you can choose to launch either Smart Edit or the
Windows operating system! On the windows side, Liberty features many
excellent functions specifically for the touch-screen environment under
Windows XP Tablet Edition - with features like the finger print
recognition for security and more. Liberty will release with Smart Edit 6 pre-installed - providing you with even more exciting features as well as your choice of editing in Standard Definition or HDV. Another excellent advantage of the Casablanca Liberty is Toshiba's full worldwide warranty on hardware of three years. MacroSystem of course handles all things related with Smart Edit. The Casablanca Liberty will revolutionize how and where you edit your productions. Where can us use the Liberty? ANYWHERE! You can do same day edits, record seminars and events LIVE via Firewire interface directly to your portable Casablanca. SAME DAY EDITS of wedding videos are now possible without lugging a Casablanca, monitor, keyboard and trackball to and from a church to the reception. Plus, you can work on the unit in the car between locations (just don't do that while you drive; the nice police might have a problem with that!). Please note that although MS announced pricing for the Casablanca Liberty today, its release in North America is dependent on the NTSC Release of Smart Edit 6. You will note there are two versions of the Casablanca Liberty providing customer choice on processor power, hard drive, RAM and pricing. The Liberty Add On pricing below that reflects an option for software only as this is the first editing product we carry whose hardware is manufactured outside our doors. The pricing on the entire Liberty package provides customer incentive to purchase from our reseller network and not shop around too much. You will also note the special Liberty software bundle, which embellishes the Operating System and provides you with a good set of editing capabilities. Current Casablanca owners will also enjoy the benefit of purchasing software for their Liberty at 40% discount if they already own that software on their 'desktop' Casablanca unit.
